Who needs publishers?

Writer Matthew Swanson and illustrator Robbi Behr are doing just fine publishing their own stuff.  Presumably this means they have also dispensed with agents.  Now, the illustrated books that they turn out under the imprint of Idiot’s Press, with titles like Babies Ruin Everything and Facial Features of French Explorers, are wickedly funny, which might explain why they can do just fine without publishers.  My girlfriend, Judith, gave me a subscription to their next six books for my birthday, and it is undoubtedly one of the coolest presents I have ever received.  In addition to their website, you can find Idiots Press on Facebook
